Ginny and I became friends at WVU and remained friends from then on. We would sometimes go long stretches of time without being in touch but then could pick up the phone and talk as if we’d talked yesterday. I’m deeply saddened by her death and send sincere condolences to her family and friends. Margie Leyh
You know how you have friends for different reasons, and for different seasons?
I have my funny friends who cheer me up, my "techie" friends when I can't do something on my computer or phone, my "let's have lunch friends" who love to share a good meal and glass of wine.
These are just some of my "reason" friends.
My "season" friends
were my childhood friends, my young mom friends, my work sisters and friends, and most recently, my retired friends.
Ginny was my "Spiritual " friend, and my friend for ALL seasons. One of her favorite Bible verses was
Isiah 41 verse 10.
She would refer to it often...especially after we had a rousing political conversation!
Ginny and I never lost touch after we retired, and often met for breakfast at Perkins on Curlew. That was a half way point since she lived at the Mainlands, and I moved to Trinity! When she took her car in for servicing at her beloved Sun Toyota, in NPR, I'd meet her there and we'd go to Dunkin Donuts.
During those times, we shared many things, but the conversation always included our shared faith. She lifted me up, prayed for me and my needs, as I did for her. I always knew if she said she would pray for me...she would.
I'm sure you've all experienced Ginny's strong faith.
We spoke by phone about twice a week and she would talk about our struggles with the world in general, personal issues, and her hope that Jesus would come back during her natural lifetime. We'd always be sure to end with a laugh, and a promise of prayer tho.
I'll miss my forever friend and wait for a sign that she’s met Jesus and it’s paradise, like we both pictured.

Ginny was my friend, neighbor, and co-worker in the Team Resources department at Baycare. We both shared a mutual love for dogs and all animals. Ginny always approached things from a spiritual perspective. Her rich prayer life, knowledge of Scripture, and depth of character will be deeply missed. She cared about others and possessed a generous heart. Rest now, my sweet friend. Until we meet again. Love, Joanna
Ginny was my mentor, counselor and friend! She was one of the most kind people I have had the pleasure to call my friend! I don’t think any of us will forget the runaway puppy search and capture event several of us took part in but it was just one of memories that made us a great team and work family. Ginny had a way with words and no one celebrated a special moment without Ginny giving them a meaningful/funny poem. Ginny was the best and many of us that had the chance to work with her feel blessed, she will be greatly missed!

Ginny was a loving presence in Mainlands. She was often seen walking her dogs Cuddles and then Riley. There was a mutual affection for her beloved animals. She also displayed courage as she fought the good fight. She will find peace and joy in heaven. God bless you Ginny. Love Sam and Ann DaSilva
My deepest sympathies to Ginny’s family; Ricky her nephew, her two nieces, Laura and Lisa and their mom.
I met Ginny in the early 90’s when we worked together at Bay Area Hospital Council. We had a great team there and we all got along so well. The best part was, the laughs we had; we got our work done but, there wasn’t a day when we didn’t share a funny conversation or “event that took space”.
Laughter is the best medicine for sure. 😁
I was so blessed I met Ginny and for thirty years we have kept in touch. Had birthday, Christmas or, ‘just because’ lunches; she was a very caring and special friend. I thank God He put Ginny in my life
