My mother was an amazing, demanding, loving person. She raised all us kids ( we were not easy!), loved her family, was VERY proud of her grand and great grand children, and ALWAYS wanted to be the "belle of the ball' getting the most attention. I will miss our times at the cottage, traveling with her, and most of all just knowing she was there no matter what. I will miss her love every day for the rest of my life, but know she is "doing her thing" in a better place with those who went before her. What a reunion they must be having!
I have known ma Slater since I was in high school (not that long ago) .She certainly was a force to be reckoned with back then. In later years my girls called her grandma. I always politely asked for new handmade sleepers.
I always enjoyed seeing Grandma Slater, especially when she and Luca (my daughter) would talk about Disney princesses!
Or the time I took her to the dentist and helped her fill out the questionnaire... a few questions asked about climbing stairs or walking far distance... she told not to worry she would do those things if there was a good looking man at the end!!!
She will be dearly missed!
I will always remember her dancing in the bar at the clam shack.. always a smile and a kind word ,she will be missed
In 1985 Ma Slater moved to Florida and I got one of many of the worlds best hugs from her when we met. Ma loved to laugh, to stitch with love slippers most of all and family. Once I met her she was instantly Ma to me. I know how happy it made her to see Tammy and her boys and then to see her family of love continue to grow and flourish. We are all blessed to have held her tight, shared a laugh and gotten some wisdom. Top of the world Ma!!! Love you!
