Samuel Joseph Martin II's Obituary
Samuel Joseph Martin II, born on August 3, 1938, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife, Angela J. Martin; his children, James Martin, Samuel Martin, Andrea Wolters, Christopher Martin, and Andrew Martin; his sister Suzanne Mingo; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Martin, and his brothers, Robert and Gordon.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Samuel served from 1956 to 1958 before pursuing higher education. During college, he showcased his athletic talent as a pitcher and later channeled his love for sports into coaching little league and high school teams. His passion for sports extended beyond the field to the lives of the young athletes he mentored.
Samuel built a successful career in sales across various industries, including advertising, office supplies, and pharmaceuticals. His dedication to providing for his family was matched only by his creative pursuits. An accomplished artist and storyteller, he found joy in painting and sharing tales with those around him.
In addition to his professional and artistic endeavors, Samuel enjoyed fishing and was a classic car enthusiast, hobbies that reflected his resourcefulness and love of hands-on craftsmanship.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Localz Sports Bar & Grill St. Pete.
Committal to take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Friday, February 28, 2025, promptly at 2:30 PM. Guests should arrive by 2:15 PM to line-up in the roundabout and wait for further instruction.
