Samuel "Sammy" Cotto's Obituary
Samuel Cotto (a.k.a Sammy) age 67, passed away on August 5, 2025 in Wildwood, Florida, born in Newark, New Jersey on August 7, 1957. He is survived by his four children Crystal, Samuel, Samantha and Isabella; grandchildren Abisai, Krystal Del Mar, Elijah, Jairo, Amahia, Jeremiah, Amora and 10 siblings Carmen, Dan, Miriam, David, Yolanda, Noemi, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Virginia and John. Sam will be remembered for his love for the Lord and the reading of the Word which became alive everyday in his life. At a very young age he fell in love with the presence of the Lord and that's when it all started: a life of prayer. His passion was to connect people to the Lord and spread the Word, like a wildfire. His mission work led him to share the Gospel with foreign countries and make disciples of Christ. He was known for his Godly wisdom, generosity, trust and confidence in the Lord, kind-heartedness, humor, witty nature and his love for music and people. He was a talented guitarist and pianist-all for the glory of God. He shared his abundant love as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor and Bishop. Throughout his long life journey he maintained his faith in the Lord. His famous words were "less is more"; meaning less of him and more of God. He will be greatly missed; his memory will live on in our hearts forever; may he rest in peace.
Visitation is at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, with the funeral starting at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
