Mr. Ronald B. Persaud's Obituary
Mr. Ronald B. Persaud of Pinellas Park, Florida, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Largo Medical Center, Largo, Florida. He was 75. Ronald was born November 12, 1942 in Georgetown, Guyana; the loving son of the late Chinta Prashad and Prema Persaud.
His career began as a lab assistant with Booker Sugar in Guyana. After 22 years with the company, he left Guyana and the sugar plantations as a field manager and began anew in the United States. He first worked with ACE Hardware where he assisted his customers with his vast knowledge of horticulture, chemicals and pest issues.
Ronald also worked with LESCO Fertilizers in Florida before attaining a supervisor position with the City of St Petersburg in the Parks & Recreation Division for 2 years and worked 8 years as a supervisor with Largo Central Park.
Ronald was deeply committed to his faith and actively served as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church 4661 82nd Ave N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Joan and Annette. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 48+ years, Rita Persaud; his daughter, Deborah Allyson Brummell O’Hara; his brother, Buntin Prashad and his cousin Jai Persaud and is wife Rose Marie. Ronald also leaves behind several extended family members and a host of dear friends. He will be missed by many.
Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4661 82nd Ave N, Pinellas Park, Florida 33781. A reception will immediately follow the service. Memorial Park Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ronald’s name are suggested to Metropolitan Ministries 2002 N Florida Ave, Tampa, Florida 33602.
