Ron was such a special soul and will be missed by so many people, especially Rita. He could speak extensively on so many topics; somehow a short visit became lengthy as his great fund of knowledge came into play. His sense of humor was light and self-deprecatory. His spirituality was deep and his kindness extensive. Our daughter is very ill in the U.K. and Ron said the rosary daily for her; I'm thinking she is still here because of his efforts on her behalf. We will miss knowing that he is here but his journey has taken him to a far better place. We'll see you there, Ron.

Rita,
My sincerest condolences on Ron’s passing. I wish you strength, peace and the light of your faith to guide you through this darkest of times. My fondest memory of Ron, he is at Dolly’s house and a vine hung in her entry. Ron was not pleased in the care of the vine and spent over an hour rearranging and talking to the vine. It’s as if they were in a deep conversation and he sensed the vines discomfort. When you gaze the eyes of a lot of folks there isn’t much staring back at you. When you gazed into Ron’s eyes, he allowed you to see his soul. Intelligence, compassion, strength, humility, temperance, were a few of his virtues. Indeed, he had a blessed soul and we are all the better for knowing him. May his soul find everlasting peace.

The first time i met Mr Persaud, he and Ms Rita came in my office at Florida Digestive Services, and in walked a humble, loving, strong man. i immediately recognized these characteristics of Mr Persaud because he reminded me so much of my father in these ways. Before leaving my office, i developed an everlasting relationship with them both. Mr Persaud referred to me as his "Tater Baby", and i will always feel honored for that. Ms Rita,to be absent w/man is to be present with the Lord. i know that Mr Persaud is at peace, and wold want the same for you. God bless.... i am a phone call away.

Rita - You remain in our thoughts and prayers every day. It has been a long journey but Ron fought valiantly for many months. He was so strong, as are you, and we envy the strength you have both demonstrated during this difficult journey. We will remember Ron as a kind, considerate, gentle soul as well as a plant genius! He holds a very special place in our hearts and I will really miss his hugs. We will remember his teachings every spring with our flower pruning and trimming. His presence and his jokes will be missed by all at the annual Seward Christmas party. He was always so attentive and such a good listener. May God continue to give you strength during this difficult time. Remember, only our sadness can really pass away.

Ron was a very strong and generous man. He had a deep faith that helped him cope with his myeloma. He was a fighter and fought the good fight to the end. It was a blessing that he was able to let his dying wishes be known and to say goodbye to everyone, especially to Rita and his family. He loved deeply and forever. He was a very strong, proud and stubborn man, which are the things we loved the most about him and at other times could drive you crazy.
He always had your back when it really mattered and wanted to be the protector of his family. He touched everyone he met with his quick wit, funny jokes and intelligence. He was easy to talk to and always had a great simile for everyone. He was a very caring person and would give his last dime to someone less fortunate. He helped more people than we'll ever know. We were lucky to have known him and to be a part of his life.
God saved a special place for Ron in heaven. The world was a better place while he was in it.
