Mr. Ricky Charles Smith, Sr.'s Obituary
Ricky Charles Smith, Sr. of Clearwater, FL passed away on July 27, 2016, at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved wife by his side.
Rick is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Christina (Eric) Lambert; sons, Ricky Jr., Trenton and Ty; brother, Joel Gordon; sisters, Sally Holmes, Cheryl Dickins, Yvonne Weaver and Kathy (Don) Smith; nieces, JoLynn, Shannon and Marissa; nephews, Vaughn, Billy and Michael. He is predeceased by parents, Charles and Ruth Smith.
A Florida native, Rick was born in St. Petersburg, FL on July 25, 1958. He was married to the love of his life, Frances for 32 years and was a proud parent of "366 kids." He was a happy man with a sunny disposition and could most often be found making new friends and cracking jokes. He never met a stranger and could be counted on to know someone any place he went. He loved to entertain and would cook for an army even if it was only a normal Sunday dinner. Any holiday would be filled with all of the people he considered family and he shined with all of his favorites hanging out in his "dog house." He loved beach Sundays with his wife, fishing with his "boys" and lived by the motto, "it's 5 o'clock somewhere." Rick will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends he leaves behind.
A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 12pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 5750 - 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Rick's memory to Suncoast Hospice.
