Olivia Ann Beatty's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Olivia Ann (Cline) Beatty announces her passing after a brief illness on Thursday October 22, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Olivia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeff, Brian (Melissa), April Minor, and Todd (Christine). Olivia will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Lauren, Neal, Isabella, Evelyn, Brenden and Amelia, her two great-grandchildren Kelley and Ivan, her adopted grandchildren, Justin, Marissa, Ashley, Melanie and Heather and her grandchildren by marriage, Sara and Jay. She will be forever lovingly remembered by her brother Richard (Ceilia) and sister Paula (Phil) Zell and many nieces and nephews. Olivia was predeceased by her niece and god-daughter Danielle.
Olivia was a devout Catholic and attended St. Michaels Church in Canfield, Ohio and Saint John Vianney in St. Pete Beach, Florida. She was a member of the Choir and regularly read the scriptures at Mass.
Olivia graduated from Freeport Highschool in 1956 and married in 1961. She moved to Canfield, Ohio from Pittsburg Pennsylvania in 1973. While raising her children she was actively involved with Jr. Women’s Club and was their President in 1970 and 1971. Olivia participated in many events at the Canfield Fair winning multiple First Place ribbons in the cake decorating, flower arrangements and photography. She was known as the “Cake Lady” to most every resident of the Town from making birthday, graduation and wedding cakes for the residents along with cookies and candy for every holiday. Olivia loved celebrating the holidays and went “ALL OUT” for most of them. Her closet was full of costumes that were lent out each year and for the neighborhood kids and her home was transformed into a Haunted House for an extra special Halloween treat. Each Christmas she would help with creating a live Nativity for Christmas Mass. She also would do story-telling of the “Night Before Christmas” at numerous parties. Olivia’s artistic talent was vast and she was generous with her abilities.
Volunteering was important to her and she never said no. Throughout the years she created and painted sets for Leah Flock dance recitals, sewed costumes for entire classes, participated in bake sales, spaghetti dinners and planted flowers in the Towns Square.
When Olivia moved to Florida her love of theater found an adventure in ushering and concierge service at the Mahaffey Theater where her children April and Todd work. Ohh, and she loved cats!!!
Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Church in St. Pete Beach on Thursday October 29, 2020 at 11 AM.
Her interment will be attended by immediate family only at the Memorial Park Cemetery following her Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation to the A.S.P.C.A of Tampa Bay in her name would be appreciated. Please visit - https://spcatampabay.org/one-time-donation/ for donations or they can be mailed to A.S.P.C.A of Tampa Bay – 9099 130th Avenue North, Largo, FL 33773
