Hello, I am the great granddaughter of Miriam Sassaman. She was a great women and definately one that I looked up to! I love her very much so! I'm still only in high school and I wanted her to see me graduate but now she can see everything from up above. My family and I appreciate the condolences and love and appreciation you all had fro my great grandmother. I'll be sure to show My Grandpa Jim, Great uncle Doug and everybody else. Jim and family, The short time we knew your mother, we found her to be a very special lady with an incredible attitude. We were so honored to have been able to spend time with her on her 97th birthday! We know you will miss her as will her many friends. She touched many lives in her lifetime.
Dear Mrs. Sassaman's family, I had the honor of being a math student of Mrs Sassaman in the late 1970's at Northside Christian. She was such a wonderful teacher and caring person. It was very clear that teaching was very close to her heart and that she dearly loved her students. I know that many people loved her and she will be greatly missed. My prayers are with her family.
Dear Doug, Jim and Family, I worked with your mom many years at Northside. She was a wonderful teacher and role model. When I took a job at St. Petersburg College directing a women's program, she drove to the campus many weeks to sit with the women and help them understand their math. To Mrs Sassaman's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember her well & have spoken of her often as having been THE best algebra teacher. She was the only teacher I ever had that made sense of it to me, & I wished for her again as my daughter struggled with the subject. She was a wonderful lady & a truly gifted teacher. Please accept my sympathy at this sad time.
We will miss her so much. She was the most wonderful amazing lady. We were blessed to have known her.
