Mrs. Michaelina C. Hoffmann's Obituary
Michaelina “Mickey” Concetta Hoffmann
January 11, 1932 – March 31, 2015
Our precious Mom, Nana, More Nana, Aunt, and Friend entered eternal rest at the age of 83, on March 31, 2015, where she was reunited with Bob, her husband of 60 years.
Mickey was born January 11, 1932 in Verona, NJ to Jerry and Laura Davino. She was the youngest of six children who have all preceded her in death. She graduated from Mount St. Dominic Academy and Berkeley College . She then went on to marry her soul mate, Robert “Bob” Hoffmann in 1953. Mickey and Bob moved to Florida and bought their home that would later receive a massive addition fit for a large family, which began with their two sons Bobby and Tommy.
Mickey was a devout catholic that always said her rosary and attended Transfiguration Catholic Church faithfully since the doors opened in 1959. She raised two boys and still found the time to work many years at The Pelican Diner, on St. Pete beach which was her father’s diner. She worked as a legal secretary in her earlier years and then later she performed billing services for many anesthesiologists. She loved donating her time to the children at a local school. Mickey always seemed to stay busy and always wanted to lend a helping hand.
Mickey was an Italian momma that took care of her family and friends. She hosted every family holiday with twenty one or more family members in attendance and not one of them ever left hungry. Mickey always found the time for a laugh. She loved to catch a movie or a meal with family and friends. She was a good story teller and listener. Mostly she taught us by example the value of family. We have lost our matriarch and a very dear woman. Mickey will be deeply missed and loved forever.
Mickey leaves behind her two sons, Bob and Vicki Hoffmann and Tom Hoffmann and Mary Jo Strid; five grandchildren along with their spouses, Kimberly and Frankie Hall, Christina and Greg McCullough, Robby and Heidi Hoffmann, Thomas and Jaimie Hoffmann, Tony and Heather Hoffmann; seven great grandchildren, Bailey, Daimon, Danielle, Chris, Caleb, Cayden, and Tyson; and many other family and friends.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
If tears could build a stairway,
And heartaches make a lane,
We’d walk our way to heaven,
And bring you home again.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place
No one could ever fill.
A private family viewing will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 10-11:00am. The family will receive the public from 11-1:00pm with the service to follow at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery
