I just found out that my dear friend Mickey passed away. She was my close friend for many years while I lived in Florida. She was born the same day as my mother and was my second mom in many ways. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. I send my love to her sons and their families. Denise Woomer
Aunt Mickey was a devoted and incredible care giver to her sister, Jean Schwend.
In addition to all that she provided for her immediate family, she gave much time and love to assure the members of the Schwend family that Jean was in capable hands at Arbor Oaks and receiving all the medical attention she needed. Aunt Mickey was a unique individual that provided comfort to everyone who came into her life in need of a compassionate listener. Her kind spirit will inspire all of us who were honored to know her.

Growing up, Aunt Mickey was always one of my favorite adults -she always had time for me, making me feel important and special. My appreciation only grew as I got older to realize this was her generous nature, so thoughtful and kind-hearted, always thinking of others. She was especially funny, always making us laugh and so cheerful, full of spirit and the greatest fun to spend time with.
Aunt Mickey had a her own unique, genuine way of making a fuss over people that made us feel loved and she herself was so lovable and much loved by us. She had such wonderful things to say about people, interested and concerned with not just her family and friends but our extended family and friends too.
There was always good news to share about someone but she was most joyful when speaking of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had such admiration for each of them and my heart goes out to the entire family in their loss. I'm incredibly fortunate to have had her as an aunt - she remains major part of my treasured Florida memories and I will long remember her knowing smile, her hearty laugh, her silly humor, her thoughtful deeds and her kind, kind heart.
I’ve known and loved my Aunt Mickey for 68 years and although she is recently gone, I already miss her terribly. She was a very special person who touched everyone she knew. I know I am a better person for having known her and the world is definitely a better place because of her.
Sally and I send our love, thoughts and prayers to Bobby, Vicky, Tommy and Mary Jo and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their families that she cared so much about. You all should know how proud of each of you she was and how she would go on and on talking and bragging about all of you every time we spoke…you meant everything to her and she loved all of you individually and collectively.
It’s hard to accept her passing, even knowing she so aptly prepared to be where she is now, even knowing she’s back with Uncle Bob; because the loss to us left here on earth is still very hard to accept. I personally take a million memories with me, from when I was very young up to our recent regular phone calls we would make just to keep in touch. Aunt Mickey was always like a breath of fresh air, upbeat and positive no matter the circumstances. Her caring ways, her contagious laugh…she was clearly one of kind and I for one am so lucky and happy she was a part of my life for so many years. We will all miss her terribly.
