Miss Mary Agnes Ducker's Obituary
Ducker, Mary Agnes, 92, of St Petersburg, passed away peacefully in her room at Bon Secours Maria Manor surrounded by her family, friends and staff Sunday, September 6, 2009. Mary was born on April 14, 1917 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York and lived most of her life in Queens, New York. Known as Aunt Mae to her family, she spent her life devoted to her mother, her 3 sisters, her 13 nieces and nephews and all of their extended families. She worked for over 40 years for Bethlehem Steel as a bookkeeper, payroll secretary and executive secretary. She retired in 1980 and moved to St Petersburg, Florida. Mary's hobby was ballroom dancing and listening to and singing old songs. She not only danced for fun, but also did dance competitions. Her last competition was in 2000 in Paris, France. While she was there she left the group, took a train on her own and visited Lourdes. The French were wonderful to Mary and helped her find her way to Lourdes and back to Paris. She brought home plenty of Lourdes holy water for her family and friends. Mary loved to party, stay up late and have good conversation, but she can be best defined by her faith in God, and her devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary, St Anthony and St Francis. She was a very caring, generous person with a contagious laugh. Mary was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Mitchell, Julia Ryan and Anastasia Russell. She is survived by her 13 nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. A visitation will be held Thursday 9/10 from 6-8 PM at memorial Park Funeral Home and again Friday 9/11 from 10:30-11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM both at Bon Secours Maria Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St Bernadette Wing or The Angels Passing By Program, both of Bon Secours Maria Manor 10300 4th Street North St Petersburg, Fl 33716
