I had the honor of meeting Mr. Campos twice. Although we did not speak much during those moments, his presence spoke volumes. I remember seeing someone who stood firmly for his family, a father who was always there to support his daughter through whatever challenges life placed before her.
Through Damaris, I came to know even more of the beautiful life he lived. I loved hearing the stories of his days as a professional soccer player, of his vibrant and active spirit, and of how he could still be seen riding his bike through the neighborhoods of St. Petersburg. Those stories painted the picture of a man who truly embraced life with energy, resilience, and joy.
I am grateful for the simple yet meaningful gifts that came from knowing him, like the avocados and mangoes that were lovingly gathered from his neighbor’s trees and shared with others.
Most of all, I am grateful for the father my friend was blessed with and for the memories of Mr. Campos that Damaris so lovingly shared with me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
