Mrs. Linscott H. Moreland's Obituary
Linscott Howell Moreland, 98, of Norman. OK, formerly of St. Petersburg, Fl, passed away peacefully on April 11,1212 with many of her family at her bedside. Her daughter, Lynn Yount and her husband, Ray, of Norman, OK and her son Charles Moreland and his wife, Nancy, of Hendersonville, NC, survive her. Her older son William predeceased her in 1972.
A memorial service was held in Norman at the Primrose Funeral Home on April 14 and was attended by many of her family form Oklahoma and Arkansas. A short memorial service will be held at the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Pinellas Park, FL at 1pm with a burial service immediately following in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Linscott had eight grandchildren: Raymond Yount, Robert Yount, Michael Yount, Karen Pennington, Susan Pacific, Cal Moreland, Linscott Weiker, and David Moreland. She had twenty-two great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren. Linscott was born the daughter Davis and Edna Howell in Hendersonville, NC on August 18, 1913. She lived most of her life in St. Petersburg and was a 1931 graduate of St. Pete High School. She was a bookkeeper and was employed by Sierkese Department Store and Sunset Country from where she retired in 1985. She moved to Norman, OK in 1999 to live with her daughter and son in-law. She was confirmed as a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in St. Petersburg in 1958. She was a caring mother and grandmother to all her many offspring
