Ms. Kirsten H Perea's Obituary
Kirsten Hansen Perea of St. Petersburg entered into eternal sleep on the night of August 3rd, 2015 at the age of 78.
Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Kirsten Perea, as a young adult, inspired to be an actress. That desire turned into a hunger that demanded attention, so at the age of 18, Kirsten left her home country behind and moved to New York City to follow that incredible dream. She became an American citizen, and enrolled in acting classes with renowned instructors. While attending an abundance of auditions, working in advertisement, Kirsten met Robert Perea and fell in love.
Kirsten said goodbye to the Big Apple and moved to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, and married Robert. Even though she adored the daughter they soon shared, Kirsten's old hunger for theater called to her again, and she decided to pursue the performing arts by a different avenue. Kirsten opened the Performing Arts Center of St. Petersburg, and the Bajazzo restaurant. The family of three soon relocated to St. Pete and supported her dreams.
Kirsten worked incredibly hard over the years, balancing her duties as a wife, a mother, a business owner, and a cook for Bajazzo, all the while producing shows. Little did she know, another passion would present itself and slip deeply into her heart, Children's Musical Theater. Once introduced to children, who matched her love for the performing arts, Kirsten became the director of hundreds of children productions, filling hundreds of young lives with inspiration and hope, for dreams only she could understand. To this day, there are careers, she helped nurture at a tender young age, that are now in movies, recording artists, and Kirsten's personal favorite, Broadway.
Kirsten is dearly missed by many, but most of all by her daughter, India, and her grandchildren, William, Cheyenne, Dezeray, Eduardo, Ricardo and Lyndsey.
Information on her services and ceremonies is listed below, all of which will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery.
Below are a pair of amazing poems that were written by Kirsten's family. One by her daughter, India and one by her granddaughter, Dezeray.
From the clouds
Sometimes angels have to fly away
Sometimes angels wish they could have stayed
But when called home, it’s time to go
Even if the angel wishes it wasn’t so
Watching from the clouds this angel prays
For the happiness of her loved ones, everyday
From the clouds this angel sends her love
Hoping we know she’s watching from above

Corner of your eye
Angels fly high
Up in the sky
They hear many things from below
And wish they could say hello
They are all around us
But they hate to see us fuss
They love to see us smile
They think it's worth our while
When it’s time to go, they can't say goodbye
But sometimes you can see them in the corner of your eye
--Dezeray Adams
