Joseph Peter Baroni's Obituary
Joseph Peter Baroni, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 26th, 2019 after a brief illness.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Peter, his mother, Kathryn and a sister, Margaret.
He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Elaine, his faithfully loving dog, Boots, a daughter, Lorene Baroni Rockwood (Scott), a son, Joseph Todd Baroni (Teresa), and 4 grandchildren, Joshua Rockwood, Adam Rockwood, Joseph Baroni, and Alexandra Baroni.
Joseph came to St. Petersburg as a young boy with his parents from Connecticut and made St. Petersburg his home. He attended St. Petersburg High School.
Following in his father's footsteps, he began his career in retail grocery at Pantry Pride. Years later, he went to work for Publix. Joe had a long working relationship at Publix and retired with almost 40 years of service.
As a strong car enthusiast, Joe's love for cars started back in his teen years and remained until his death. He loved his '70 GTO and shared good times with his friends at Biff Burger, Quaker Steak, and Daytona.
Joe will be sadly missed by his wife, family, and friends, but most of all by Boots.
A celebration of Joe's life will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:30pm on Sunday, July 14th. Those driving their classic cars, please meet at Biff Burger, please contact Todd for the time to arrive.
