James Robert Sutton's Obituary
With great sadness and love, we announce the passing of James Robert Sutton, lovingly known as Jimmy, on October 28, 2025 at the Suncoast Hospice (Brookside) in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Jimmy was born on September 17, 1954 in Vernon, Connecticut at the Rockville General Hospital to Harry and Eva (Campbell) Sutton. From an early age, Jimmy was full of energy, curiosity, and a zest for life that touched everyone he met. He attended Hicks Memorial Elementary School, Northeast High School and Florida State University. He earned a BS in Computer Science. Jimmy owned A&B Pawn Shop for many years and loved sports teams and cars. He served at the Welcome Home group of Narcotics Anonymous at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Clearwater, Florida. Jimmy was also a long-time supporter of Terra Nova clubhouse in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Jimmy leaves his sisters, Patricia Sutton, Joan Sutton, Diane Formeller and her partner Terry Williams, and five nieces and nephews: Christina Sutton, Kimberly Pipes and spouse Patrick Pipes, Andrew Formeller and spouse Thao Nguyen, Sarah Zwyer and spouse Rachael Zwyer and Rebecca Formeller and her partner, Donovan Jones. Great nephews and nieces include Samuel Pipes, Benjamin Pipes, Luke Pipes, Primrose Pipes, Elowyn Pipes and Alvin Formeller.
The family will hold a private graveside service in November at Memorial Park Cemetery, and the Welcome Home group of the Terra Nova Club will hold a Celebration of Life event to be announced.
The Sutton family members wish to express their deepest gratitude for the compassionate care the doctors and nurses provided to Jimmy in his final days and to all of the support staff who provided amazing compassionate care. Jimmy's light may have left this world, but his love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Jimmy, you will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.”
