HOWARD, ISABEL, of St. Petersburg, FL, died May 15, 2026, at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. She was 86 years old. She was born in Quito, Ecuador, had studied in Spain and relocated with her family to Mexico City. After marriage, she lived briefly in Dallas, Texas, three years in Venezuela, and 27 years in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she was part owner and operator of a travel agency. Upon her husband's retirement she relocated to St. Petersburg, FL where she lived since 1990. She was a member of the China Painters Guild, St. Anthony's Auxiliary, Salty Sisters, and Green Cross Project Committee. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Brian Howard of San Juan, Puerto Rico; daughter-in-law, Wandaliz Ruiz; grandson, Brandon P. Howard Ruiz; brothers, Roberto N. Velez of Miami, Florida; sisters, Beatriz Victoria Altamirano of South Carolina and Clara Velez of Quito, Ecuador; and nephews and nieces by the many.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert C. Howard; brothers, Arturo Velez and Ronald Velez; and sister, Adriana Artner.
