Ina Fay Parish's Obituary
Ina Fay Parish, 90, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on June 21, 2023. Ina was born on February 24, 1933, to Fred and Mamie Coupland in Odenville, Alabama. In the early 1940’s her family moved to Wildwood, Florida. She graduated from Wildwood High School and went on to study at the University of Florida. While there she met her husband, Don G. Parish, and graduated with a degree in Education. After graduation, she moved to St. Petersburg and taught Science and was the Librarian at Mirror Lake Junior High School and then Riviera Middle School. In 1992 Ina retired and spent her time gardening, bird watching, traveling, sharing stories and jokes with others and watching every Rays baseball game that she could. Ina made an impression on every person she met. She was quite simply unforgettable. Her love for science and adventure influenced many people.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, former students, and many dear friends.
A graveside service to honor her will be held at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, 101 58th Street South, St Petersburg, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made to the National Audubon Society at 225 Varick Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10014
