"Mrs. Parrish" has a forever place in our lives. My husband and I met in September 1958 in her 9th grade biology class, a first time academic offering at Mirror Lake Jr. Hi. It was a specially selected class of students with a specially selected teacher . . . what a great combination! We had a remarkable learning experience and felt her enthusiasm for our class. We became boyfriend/girlfriend soon after and she was well aware!
Fast forward . . . through high school, college and military service we were still a couple. When we returned to St. Petersburg in 1970 a first stop was at Riviera Middle School to see Mrs. Parrish and introduce her to our son and daughter. It was a memorable moment.
When my husband passed away a year ago, our minister shared the story of how we had met. "Mrs. Parrish" will always be a special part of our family's story.
May she rest in peace knowing her memory lives on in the many lives she touched.
