Herman R. Christiansen of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Seminole, Florida. He was 88. Herman was born January 23, 1931 in Washington, D.C.; the handsome son of the late Herman and Lorna Christi Read Obituary
Herman was the younger brother of my grandmother who raised me, Shirley May Christiansen Richmond. When I was a little girl, we went to visit Bobby (as his mother and sister called him) and his family in St. Petersburg. Bobby lived with his mother, Lorena May Alvey Christiansen, his sister and their grandmother, Eva Alvey, on Benning Road in DC. They lived in a row house, and did things like jump off the roofs onto mattresses in the alley. Shirley told me Bobby was full of mischief as a kid, and even sold her Shirley Temple doll! Lorena later remarried Lee Jenkins and had two more kids, Richard Jenkins and Jimmy Jenkins (Bobby and Shirley’s half-brothers). I haven’t seen Bobby for a long time, but I cherish fond memories of him and the fun childhood stories I’ve heard about him! My condolences to all of you. Dawn Livingston (your cousin a few times removed)
Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for the repose of you step-father's soul and for your family.

I had the pleasure of caring for Herman the last 4 months of his life. He and I had a special relationship, we kibbutzed and laughed together, he told the other nurses I was his daughter so I called him "dad". I miss him and his bluntness terribly and guess I always will. Love to Laura and Camie
