Well I can't believe it's been a month tomorrow. I can still here your voice from the last conversation. Missing you is never going to get easier. We took mom to North Carolina to check on the property and planted a beautiful Dogwood tree and a Burning bush.That's the beginning of your markers. We will plant a new one everytime we can make it up there. It sure wasn't the same without you.I hope you are able too share your charm, love and endless humor with the less fortunate up there. I hope you know how proud you made all your children to have a father like you. Love You, DAD

Hi Daddy: My birthday is nearing its end, and just as I thought, it was filled with tears and sadness. I was glad I got to talk with you - it made me feel better! I sure missed your birthday song, although everyone in tbe family took up the chorus for you. That helped too. It's been a couple weeks now and I miss you more than ever! We're muddling through but it's still a struggle - there's a hole in our hearts that may never heal! I pray you are rejoicing in God's love and the big man sends some extra comfort to the family, we could sure use some. I guess every birthday will get better with time, rjbut this one was carried out with a broken heart. We love and miss you daddy! I'm sending birthday kisses for now! Kathy

Oh Daddy-o I'm sorry it took me so long to get on here to pay tribute to you, I've tried a few times, but couldn't keep it together long enough to type. There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe what an awesome daddy you were, so I will just name a few, loving, kind, gentle, caring, patient an the strongest man I know. I feel so alone without you, even when I'm surrounded by family. There is an emptiness in me only you could fill. I can only hope that someday I will find peace and comfort in knowing that your in GODS hands surrounded by your parents, siblings and friends that I know you missed so much, I know your my guardian angel because I feel you with me steering me in the right direction. I made a pact with GOD that I want to love like you an be loved like you, I don't want there to be even a slight chance that I wont get there to see you again, because that's all I have to hold on to now is our reunion where I can hear you say " There's my girl". I love you so much daddy!

Geno, as I always called him, was among , if not the greatest man I have ever known. he always did for u and wanted nothing in return. and when he cud no longer do everything , and asked for help. he would always try to slip you a little cash. even if it mean sneaking it in Laurie's purse. I loved the guy from the 1st day I met him, as if I had known him forever. I don't know of anyone that met him who didn't love him. he was a master at wood crafting and helped me make one of his life sized bald eagles for my dad. his daughter, (my wife Laurie) has been taking it really hard, but I promised Geno through prayer that I will make sure she gets through this and to always take care of her an the family as best I can. we all love you Geno, and we know you are having a ball in heaven. til we meet again

Well, papa i guess this it. This is goodbye. You were by far the best grandfather i could ever even imagined of having you taught me right from wrong and what true hard work is like. You were the strongest man i knew. Every person that was lucky enough to meet you has a hole in their heart you meant so much to so many people its unbelievable. If someone ever needed a hand or juat someone to talk to you were always there you meant so much to me papa and you always will im having more and more trouble each and every day. Each worse then the previous. I cant get all of the memories we made together to stop running through my head and im not too sure that i want them to stop i love you grandpa rest in peace and just know you will never be forgotten by one single person down here on earth.

As I watched the video, so many memories came to mind. Not just of Gene but of those who passed before us. In his face, I saw our Mom....and our Dad. I saw my Grandpa.....our brothers....Roy, Jack, Jim, Oley and William. In his smile, I saw our sisters...Bessie, Brinda and Beulah. I never knew Betty and Tressie for they died long before I was born. I not only mourn te loss of my last brother, I mourn for all of my siblings and my folks. I hope you all know my heart goes out to you and you will always be in my prayers. I know today is going to be so very hard for you all and I will I could be there with you all. I am so very lucky that I have had you in my life for 35 years. You were such a great role model to us all. The one thing I will never forget is that smile, which could light up any room. I will always cherish all the wonderful memories I have of you in my heart. I will miss you so much...You have been such a wonderful grandpa. Aside from dad, you were one of the hardest working, strong and big hearted person I have ever known! We will all be together one day and until then I love you grandpa!!
