Ellie or Miss Ellie as she was called by many, was born and raised in this small town so she had this southern charm that was apparent by everyone she met. She was always complimented on her accent, looks and smile. She was a beautiful lady.
She met an Air Force man who became her husband when she was 19. She had her first daughter at age 20 at an AF base in Ohio. They then moved to upstate New York where she lived until around 1986. She was married to this man "Woody", the father of their children, for 25 years. Later she met a great man, Fred Myers, with whom she was with for 30 years (married for 17 of them). He showed her a life that she never knew. They traveled to Florida several times. Her daughter Sheri joined them but in 1985 she decided to stay. The following year they moved to Florida so she could be near her "baby".
She loved to travel. Going and betting on horse races. Watching the car races and her soap operas. Talking for hours with her daughters. She liked to go out for a few cocktails and have fun. He fur baby Sasha that she loved. But nothing brought her more joy than her only grandchild, Zane. He was her everything.
She suffered greatly with numerous medical issues and losses but nothing was more painful, to her or those that loved her, than the loss of her sight. But through everything she always continued to find a way to smile.
She is survived by her loving, devoted daughter and best friend - Sheri Carpenter. Son-in-Law Craig that showed her tremendous love and care. Her grandson Zane B. Leach that she loved more than life itself. Her niece Sandra Smotherman with whom she was extremely close with. Several nieces and nephews.
