Dona Louise Metz's Obituary
Metz, Dona Louise, died peacefully at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 14, 2013. She was born February 22, 1922 in West Point, Kentucky, the fourth child of Jams and Lydia Brammer. Dona was raised and attended schools in West Point, and following high school attended and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business College in Louisville, Kentucky. During WWII, she worked at Fort Knox, Kentucky, assisting officers with their deployment. Dona has been a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida for more than 60years. She retired from Rutland Bank/St, Petersburg and Trust in 1987 as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer after more than twenty years of service. She had many friends and acquaintances in the St. Petersburg banking and business community. Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Metz, her sister, Mary Frances Jones, and her two brothers, Louise Brammer and Robert Brammer. She is survived by her daughter, Cherie Petterson (David Petterson), three granddaughters, Nicole, Katie and Elizabeth, and eight great-grand children. Among her fondest memories were the times spent with family at Disney World, Barnum & Bailey Circus and St. Petersburg Beach. Dona was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg for almost 40years. Plans for a memorial service for Dona will be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church.
