The Jarvises served faithfully in the La Serena Baptist Church in Bogotá for many years during my youth. Their ministry left a lasting mark on my life, and I am deeply grateful for their example and service.
When I graduated from high school, I received a scholarship to study at Bob Jones University. Just before I traveled, Doña Bonnie sang a beautiful hymn and then prayed for me and shared a biblical promise that would later become my life verse: Isaiah 41:10. At the time, I could not have known how often the Lord would use that Scripture to strengthen and guide me in the years to come.
As I reflect on her life, I can clearly see that she was one of the women God placed in my path to shape my faith and character. Her life was a testimony of quiet strength, trust in the Lord, and faithful service. She leaves behind a legacy not only of words spoken but of a life lived for Christ.
