One of the best parts of my childhood was visiting my aunt Beatrice in Florida, irreplaceable memories.
You fought until the very end like a true McArthur.

Some of my fondest memories of growing up were being fortunate enough to visit my aunt Beatrice in Florida. She was always so welcoming to us – taking us out for meals, showing us around the town, looking after us and welcoming us into her home. She loved when we visited, and we were never made to feel as though we were imposing.
As a teenager and beyond, I remember silently admiring the life that Beatrice had built for herself. A 19-year-old moving from Glasgow to the states in this day and age is almost unheard of, but to make that move over 60 years ago is almost unthinkable. No phones, no internet, it's a wonder that people even knew anything about America back then. That just shows the type of person she was – brave, courageous, adventurous and living life to the full. Everything that she had in her life, she worked tirelessly to earn it.
She had an infectious personality; always smiling, joking and laughing. She was always the life and soul of the party, whilst looking after everybody else at the same time. Despite being over 4,000 miles away, she never forgot her roots and her family were always more important to her than anything else.
You will never be forgotten, god bless you aunt Beatrice and thanks for everything you ever did for us. Rest easy x
Rest in peace Beatrice.
Sending love from Aunty Rose and family. Xxx
My sister Beatrice lived a brave life and died a brave death, fighting until the very end.
She didn't suffer fools gladly but would make an exception if you were a relative.
Beatrice was a proud Scot who never forgot her roots.
She would often introduce me by saying "This is my wee brother, I used to change his nappies"
My wife Eleanor and I, along with our three sons, Tony, Paul, and Gary, spent many happy holidays with her in Florida.
Holidays that may never have been possible without her accommodating us, lending me her car, and throwing in the odd theme park pass.
We all love and miss you dearly.
See you later, big sister xxxxx
Rest in peace Aunty B. You will be missed
