I miss you Mom
Finally Home

A beautiful mind that first thought of me
A womb that kept me safe
A smile that exploded
The first time she saw my face
Loving arms that cradled me
Gentle hands that brushed my hair
A contagious, vibrant laugh
That still lingers in the air
Two lips that kissed my banged up knees
And wiped away my tears
A tongue that prayed continuously
Through all my childhood years
Approving eyes that watched me dance
That never missed a show
Ears that listened to all my hurts
Advice that helped me grow
A faith that helped me spread my wings
Her spirit made me strong
Encouragement that made me brave
That helped me write my song
The greatest mom, my truest friend
I wish I could see your smile
Still, today my heart leaps with joy
Because I had you for a while
Fifty-six years, spent and gone
A life that briefly touched my own
A smile on her Savior’s face
A soul that’s finally home
The woman always had juice :) Every time I went over to her house, she would yell from the kitchen "Hey Tiff, Lynds, Steve UGH Amanda, what juice do you want ? I got apple, and orange and mango boisenberry......." She rarely got our names correct on the first try :)
Every time I see a crazy mix of juices, I think of her and smile.
She was always looking out for us, always protecting. I remember driving with her and feeling my life in danger (lol) Every time she turned a corner and someone was pulling out in front of her , she would yell "Stay there you asshole!!!". I'm not going to lie, I say it silently now too. And I smile every time.
I'm proud to have known her. I will miss her smile. I will miss her laugh. And I will miss her tight hugs around the neck. Bushel and a peck, my sweet Nana. I love you.

One of my favorite memories was of Nana on Halloween dressed as the evil queen with a mini snow white on her lap and seven goofy looking dwarves trailing behind. I still can't believe with the power combo of Kennedy and Nana we didn't win. It was a fix! But a nice fun memory.
I have many fond memories of Mrs. McDonald and the family when we lived in NJ and I would visit Madison Park. She did keypunch from home then and was always so welcoming with that great smile and warm disposition. Will never be forgotten.
“I cannot say good-bye to those whom I have grown to love, for the memories we have made will last a lifetime and never know a good-bye.”
To be love like Nana was , by her family , is to have lived a wonderful life.
To Linda, Peter, Tiffany, Lyndsay , Steven and extended family we send our love. May all of the many memories (especially the colorful ones...) give you peace and comfort.
Love ,

Aunt Nan was a loving, bright, and joyful lady. While we never lived close to one another, her happy and brief phone calls always made me feel loved. She was my godmother and she shared the light of Christ with me. May her soul rest in peace. Keeping her family in my prayers and daily Rosary intentions.
In Christ,
Barbara (McGuire) Tosques
