My heartfelt condolences to my beautiful cousins and their families for the loss of your mother, my aunt.
I will always remember my Aunt Afro as a hardworking, happy, considerate, kind, beautiful and fun person. When she came to Montreal with your Dad, we took long walks, talked for hours and laughed so much. That is what I will remember for the rest of my life. I love her deep in my heart.
Aunt Afro, I love you and may you rest in peace. I am so sorry I didn’t get to see you more often.

Every time the three sisters, Ketty (my mother), Zoe and Afoditi were together they quickly found ways to laugh so hard, they often got 'cramps'...Thea Afroditi was the youngest and like a 'big sister' to us. When they left Montreal and eventually moved to Florida, we missed the daily contact. As our families grew, we were so excited to spend our summer vacations in St. Pete. With open arms and pots of great Greek dishes, Thea welcomed the big Canadian July migration. Thea also introduced us to uncle's beloved hometown island, Naxos, Greece. Our many Detsis-Hadjis vacations helped maintain the bonds of aunt/niece-nephew relationships and ensured the second and third generations of cousins also created strong relationships. This is Afroditi's legacy...and we will honour it!
