Bobbie Jean Fowler age 82, passed away Monday November 2, 2020 due to complications from Parkinson’s. She was born March 7, 1938 to Charles E. and Mary E. Morton in St. Petersburg, FL. She was an only child until she was 9 when her sister Nina Jo was born followed by her sister Betty Ann the following year. Her first job was at Webb’s City where her father was a Vice President. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1956 and married Joseph C. Phelps the same year. Daughter Jody was welcomed in 1958 followed by son Charles in 1959. Son John was born in 1962 with the Christopher being born in 1965 to round out the family. She worked at Florida Power and in 1976 became a single mom. She married Marty Fowler in 1981 giving us a blended family. She welcomed Mark, Sean, and Jill as her own. She obtained her AA degree from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1990 at the age of 52. After retiring from Florida Power, she worked for a few years at Wallace Welch and Willingham. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2005. She fought this disease with grace and dignity and was a true inspiration to her family and all who knew her. Mom made friends wherever she went and was loved by many. She stayed strong due to her faith in God letting us take comfort in knowing that her faith never left her no matter how bad her health got. She was loved, she will be missed but never forgotten. She was predeceased by her parents Charles E. and Mary E. Morton, brother-in-law Michael Tomasieski; step son Mark, granddaughter Paige. She is survived by her husband Marty, sisters Nina, Betty (Billy) , daughter Jody (Glenn), sons Charles (Lisa), John (Lisa), and Chris (Kim), step son Sean, step daughter Jill (Jeff). She is survived by her grandchildren Autumn, Joshua, Alysha, Ashley, Morgan, Nolan, Hilary, Brad, Greg, Valerie, Mike and Carolyn. Also, her great grandchildren Hunter, Madelyn, Chloe, Anabelle, Janelle, William, Oliver, Noah, Madeline, Emma, Reece and Max. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as friends at Magnolia Gardens. A visitation is planned for Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Parkinson's Foundation for research.
