Zofia Stopa's Obituary
Stopa, Zofia 75, of Seminole, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013. Originally from Poland, Zofia moved to Boston in 1959 where she lived until 1998. She was very involved in the Polish community and was the Choir Director for the Krakowiak Polish Folk Singers. With her love of singing she had the honor of singing for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Rome in 1983. She was the youngest of 8 children and the mother of 3: Ursula Stopa of Seminole,FL, Martha Tremblay of S. Easton, MA, and Mark (Patricia) Stopa of Clearwater, FL. She was the loving grandmother of Kasina, Camryn, and Marinna. She is preceeded in death by her husband of 49 years Felix Stopa. She is survived by her sisters and brother Jozefa, Weronika, and Kazimierz of Poland, and her sister in law Emilia Konieczny. A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sun. Jan. 20, 2013 from 4 to 7pm with a funeral service at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Largo on Mon. Jan. 21, 2013 at 1pm.
