Wilma Frances Peters' Obituary
Peters, Wilma Frances, went home to be with her Lord on February 9, 2012. Born on November 26, 1918 in Sims Illinois to Guy Neaveill and Martha Richardson. Wilma moved to the St. Petersburg area with her late husband, the Reverend Ralph Peters, in 1959. Wilma led a lifetime of service to her family, her church, and to others. She was active in the Open Bible Church of St. Petersburg for much of her adult life, giving generously of her time and serving her church family variously including as a board member and as pastor emeritus for visitation. She was a Life Member of Pinellas County PTA and had served as President of Pinellas County PTA. Before her retirement in 1980, Wilma served as a paraprofessional in the reading program in the Pinellas County School system. Wilma will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who always put others' needs before her own. She loved to sew, and quilt, and spend time visiting with family and friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Peters in 1986, and by siblings, Clyde Neaveill, Hazel Brown, Ruby Beckett and Cecil Neaveill. She is survived by her son, Ronald N. Peters and wife Elana of Pinellas Park, daughter Darla Peters Fonseca of Sugar Land, Texas, two grandchildren, Kalley Peters Stanton and Ron Peters Jr., and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Walton and husband Thomas, of Creve Coeur, and many nieces, nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral home on Wednesday, February 15th from 5-7PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16th at 10am at Open Bible Church, 1200 30th Ave N., St. Petersburg, officiated by Pastor Al Castro.
