William E. Willatt III's Obituary
Willatt, William E. III, of Venice, formerly of Syracuse, NY and Salem, VA, died December 17, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at Sun Coast Cathedral, 3276 East Venice Avenue, Venice, 34292. Survivors include his sister Sharon Schinsing of Victor, NY and brother Neil (Teresa) of Largo; nephews Skip (Suzanne), David, Craig (Terri), Eric (Lori) Schinsing and Wade (Michelle) Willatt; niece Lauren Laws (Mike); 10 great nephews and nieces and special friend and caregiver Ron Sortore. He is also survived by loving cousins, Sue Thornton, Vi Farr, Bob (Barb) Farr, Ed (Marcia) Robinson, Ed Nichols, Beverly Reed, Don (JoAnn) Axtell and numerous second and third cousins. He leaves behind special friends Tom Hamrick, Brian Wenzlick, Randy Bell, Marie Kioski, Jim Hinker and many others. Bill was born in Sayre, PA, the son of Maude and William E. Willatt Jr. He received a BS Degree from R.I.T. in Rochester, NY and a MBA from Syracuse University. He was an avid supporter of the Syracuse Football, Basketball, and LaCrosse teams. He spent four years in the Navy including a tour in Vietnam with the Navy Seabees. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity, a Lifetime Member of the VFW Post 1536 in Sayre and a member of Sun Coast Cathedral. He loved college sports, cooking and hosting parties for his family and friends. Bill was in the Commercial Lighting business at Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse and Hubbell Lighting in Christiansburg, VA. Bill moved to Venice in 2005 after more than 16 years of service. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother of 45 years, Gerrie, along with his previous companion George Eastman. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Sun Coast Cathedral MCC at the above address.
