William R Voss III's Obituary
William “Bill” R. Voss III, 70, died peacefully in his sleep on April 8, 2021, in St. Petersburg, FL following a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Bill was born on October 17, 1950, in St. Petersburg, FL to William R. Voss Jr. and Betha Anderson Voss. He graduated from the University of South Florida and was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was married to Bonnie Overholser Voss for 30 years before their divorce, raising two daughters together. He enjoyed a long career working for the State Comptroller's Office as a Certified Bank Examiner. Bill was an avid runner - winning many trophies - and a big Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Bill is survived by his mother, Bertha (96); his two children, Amy Rodenbrock (39) and Melanie Voss (35); and three grandchildren: Sophie Rodenbrock (5), Jonah Rodenbrock (3) and Reyna Voss (1). He is preceded in death by his father, William R. Voss Jr.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 12. In keeping with his simple nature, the service will be private and for immediate family only; however, a live stream link will be available for anyone who would like to view it. Those wishing to honor his life can make a donation in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
