Rev William H. Giesler's Obituary
Rev. William H. Giesler of Seminole, Florida and originally of Jamestown, New York, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 after a long battle with complicated health issues. He was 90. Bill was born March 8, 1928 in Jamestown, New York; the beloved son of the late Harold William and Annie Giesler. After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1950 from Anderson University, he began his ministry and over the span of the next 20 years served Pastorates in Ohio, Virginia and Florida. In 1970, Bill took his ministry in a new direction serving as Health Care Administrator for another 20 years. During this time, he was very innovative in the Life Care facilities. He retired in 1990 and moved into Lake Seminole Square the first day it opened; March 7, 1990. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Anna Mae Whittall, half-sister, Betty Love and his son-in-law, David DiGirolamo. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68+ years, Catherine Giesler; his son, James W. Giesler (Beverly) of Madeira Beach, Florida and his daughter, Janet DiGirolamo of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He is also survived by a half-sister, June Clark of Jamestown, New York. Bill is also the dear grandfather of four grandchildren; Kristin, Erik, Jeff and Katie. He also has seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 7,2018 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th St. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Bill’s honor to the Giesler Family Endowed Scholarship Fund at Anderson University 1100 East 5th St., Anderson, IN 46012.
