William Jacob Burel, Jake, 90, Pt. Brittany, St. Petersburg, FL, died March 29, 2011 in Orlando from a September 2010 car accident. Born 7-27-1920, Pittsburg PA, parents, William C and Ada M Burel, graduated first in his high school, received a full scholarship to Stevens Institute of Technology, earned both a bachelors and masters in engineering. A pioneer of the nuclear industry and design of modern petrochemical plants. He is survived by his son Walter Burel of Orlando and two step sons, Robert O'Brien and Kenneth Lombino, 6 grand children, Ann Burel, David Burel, Diane Nelson, great grandson, Dashiel Nelson, grand children Mathew O'Brien, Mark O'Brien, Heather Crittenden, 8 additional great grandchildren, brother, Walter Burel of Gettysburg, PA. Preceded in death by Adeline Burel, wife of 19 years and Catherine Burel, wife of 33 years , died 1985 William F. O'Brien, deceased step son. The chapel service will be Saturday, April 16, 2010 at 10 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49 St. N.
