Walter Mazurek's Obituary
Mazurek, Walter O., 88, passed away May 23rd, 2011 at the Seminole Pavilion. He was born Sept. 27, 1922 in Spillertown, IL. He was a US Navy veteran. He worked in education for over 30 years. He retired from Pinellas County Schools in 1985. After retirement, he wrote many articles for the Gulfport Gabber, which through his articles, he touched many lives. His entire life revolved around the love of sports. He played them and coached them. He is most proud of coaching the Vinoy Men's 5.0 tennis team and taking them to the nationals and winning two national titles. He is survived by 2 children Stephen and Michelle Elliott; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
