Wallis D Swartz's Obituary
Swartz, Wallis D. (Wally), 76, of Pinellas Park, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2012 while at Bay front Medical Center. Born in Chicago, IL, Wally retired as a Sergeant after 20 years with the St. Petersburg Police Department; he also served in the United States Marine Corps. Wally was a member of the Major B.F. Hickey Detachment 57, President of FMDAC, Secretary/Treasurer for the St. Petersburg Police Retired Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police and a member of the American Legion Post 273. Wally was an active member of Seabreeze Community Church where he helped Pastor Donnie Holley with many projects. Survived by his wife of 34 years Sandy, his faithful companion "Gizmo", sister-in-law Carol Overman, niece Jamie Reis (John Bernstein), great-nephew Nicholas and great niece Alexa, son Michael, daughter-in-law Roberta, grandchildren Joshua and Anna, and son Wally. A wake will be held at the funeral home April 20th from 5-8PM. The service will be on April 21st at 1PM officiated by Pastor Donnie Holley at Seabreeze Community Church 10321 75th Street with the committal service to follow immediately at Memorial Park Cemetery.
