Gulfport Born/raised in Chicago Being a single parent, she held various types of jobs to support herself & her only child, Michael. One of her favorites was working at a concert hall in Chicago & had the chance to meet & greet with some of celeberties that played there. No matter how busy she was, she always had fun play dates with just the 2 of us planned on her days off. After leaving Chicago in the late 60's, mom & I moved to riverside, calif...what a fun time & great experiences we had. Mom was not afraid to work any kind or type of job and instilled strong work ethics to me at an early age. By the early/mid 70's, she remarried, hence the Wilson last name.
About 5 yrs after the wedding, we 3 moved to west Tennessee (Drummonds)...talk about culture shock-oh boy, but mom & her husband were happy there. Mom really got into the country living and enjoyed many outdoor activities & various gatherings with family & friends. By mid 90's, she moved to florida after the divorce to be closer to her son. Mom worked at a bait & tackle shop, beach bazaar, and the Pinellas county school system. Not too long after mom retired, she started experiencing various health issues & illnesses but she tried to enjoy life as much as possible with her boyfriend & his friends as well as with me & my partner and our friends. My partner & I were with mom when she took her last breath. It was a beautiful and honorable experience and it pleases my heart knowing she is no longer in pain but free to be a butterfly that she loves Mom/Ginny is survived by her boyfriend rick of 15yrs ~ her son Michael & his partner William of 22yrs ~ 6 brothers/sisters, Mary "Bobbie", Paul, James "Jim", Judy, Joan, and Dennis ~ 9 nieces/nephews, Chance, Justin, Morgan, Joe, Julie, Jeremy, JJ, Amy, and Darci and by many other family members and lots of friends as well. As far as a "memorial", I/we intend to hold a celebration or life tribute. No date/time has been set as of yet but if you wish you attend, you can email me at [email protected] ,subject line "Ginny", for more details In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the wonderful staff of St. Anthony's hospital or a living plant to add to a butterfly garden I started in honor of mom.
