Virginia G. Johnson's Obituary
Virginia G. Johnson of Sun City Center, Florida and formerly of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 13, 2020 in Sun City Center. She was 98.
Virginia was born May 28, 1921 in Schenectady, New York; the beautiful daughter of the late Nicholas and Nellie Miller. She and her brother worked several years as dancers in theaters / musical productions on Broadway in New York City. Her career path ultimately led to the world of banking where she earned the title of Vice President with Rutland Bank in the Tampa Bay Area. She was a proud to be the wife of a Pearl Harbor survivor / WWII Veteran and the mother of a Vietnam Veteran and the sacrifices her family made through their devoted service in the US Military.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28+ years, John Johnson (1981); her daughter, Linda Johnson Lewis and three brothers; Gene, Bernie and George Miller. Virginia is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Johnson, her two grandchildren; Stephanie Cataldo and John Lewis, along with Elizabeth Hilton and Thomas Cataldo.
Visitation will be 4pm - 6pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 and 2pm - 4pm Sunday, February 23, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th Street North, St Petersburg, Florida 33709 funeral services will be 11am, Monday, February 24, 2020 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband John in the Open Bible Garden of Memorial Park Cemetery, St Petersburg, Florida.
