Virginia G. "Ginny" Hardy's Obituary
Virginia G. “Ginny” Hardy, 87 of Zephyrhills, FL went to be with her Lord on a beautiful Sunday morning, October 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Sidney L. and Mary Catherine Godwin Graham. Ginny graduated from Illinois Normal State University with a teaching degree in English. Before pursuing her teaching career, she was an Airline Stewardess for TWA Airlines. Ginny began her teaching career in Palatka, FL along with raising her family. She later taught in Columbus, GA, Hernando County, FL and finally Pasco County, FL. She taught all grade levels and finally retired from Pineview Middle School, Land O’ Lakes, FL in 1995 after 30 years of teaching. She was also a past member of the Pasco County Retired Teachers. Throughout the years Ginny loved her students along with the unconditional love she gave to her own children. She was very fond of animals including small pets and birds which she kept well fed. Her hobbies included bird watching, gardening, coin collecting, doing Jumbo puzzles and rooting for her FSU Seminoles and Arkansas Razorbacks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Miriam and brother-in-law, Ed Gammill; nephew, Eddie Gammill and her lifetime little Chihuahua, Chilupa. Ginny is survived by her children, son, John R. Hardy and his wife, Beverly of Cullowhee, NC; daughter, Dana L. and her husband Jon Yeager of Ridge Manor, FL; son, Peter L. Hardy of Pinellas Park, FL; son, Mark A. Hardy and his wife, Wendy of Hernando, FL; granddaughters, Jenna and Sara Hardy of Cullowhee, NC; nephew, Patrick Gammill of Phoenix, AZ and niece, Hazel Jean Gammill Lundin of Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, Wounded Warriors Project or the Lighthouse for the Blind in her memory. A Celebration of Life Service is will be held on Sunday October 23 at 3:00P at the Orange Blossom Ranch Condos Clubhouse 4506 Blossom Blvd. Zephyrhills, FL 33542.
