Virginia Altman Sprangers (“Gini”)
“Gini” was born March 27,1925, in Knox, PA, moved to South Pasadena, FL, in 1960 from Youngstown, OH. She went to be with the Lord, February 29, 2024. “Gini” was a secretary with the City of St. Petersburg and a tax preparer. She was a 30-year member of the Social and Landscape Committees of Bay Island Condominiums, a member of the South Pasadena Beautification Committee, the Pasadena Women’s Club, and the Pasadena Community Church. For many years she enjoyed volunteering at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital and the Hospice Thrift Store. Her hobbies included dress designing, sewing, crafts, ceramics, sculpturing, knitting, watercolor painting, playing Bridge and world traveling.
When she would meet a friend, the greeting would be, “Where’s your next trip?” She
enjoyed 48 world-wide cruises and visited our fifty states, Canada, Central and South America, and Europe via bus tours. One of the most memorable was a 42-day bus trip to and through Alaska.
She was predeceased by husbands Clyde Wiley and Walter “Wally” Sprangers; son,
Jeffrey Wiley; grandson, Joshua Wiley; daughter, Gaylin Crenshaw; son in-law Jim Crenshaw; brother, John Altman; stepson, Peter Sprangers; and parents. Survivors include daughter inlaw Dee Wiley; six grandchildren (Jarrod Wiley, Joslyn Daignault, Christina Barnes, Brent Crenshaw, Mackenzee Randolph, Jaimee Dresdner) and nine great grandchildren.
A small ceremony with family and friends will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
