Virginia Joan Brandt's Obituary
Brandt, Virginia “Joan”, of South Pasadena, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 17, 2017. Joan was born July 7, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. Joan held many positions in her life, including working for the tank plant (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan, where she met her husband, Howard Brandt. In 1963, they moved to Armada, Michigan, where they owned and managed a bowling alley. Later changing into a roller rink accompanied by an ice cream parlor all while raising a family. In 1980 she moved to Bay Islands in South Pasadena. She was employed at Derby Lanes as a manager of concessions. She enjoyed making many friends attending line dancing, cards, exercise and knitting. Joan enjoyed spending her summers in Michigan with her family and helping anyway she could on the farm in Armada. She was predeceased by her father and mother Harold and Audrey (Taylor) Conley and her ex-husband, Howard. She is survived by her sister Audrey Gochmonsky, a beloved daughter Janice Whiting and son Mark Brandt and Cyndi. Grandchildren Kimberly and husband Jason Reed, Kylie Brandt, Matthew Whiting and wife Abbie and Mark “Hunter” Brandt. Plus one great-grandbaby Gavyn Jay Reed.
