Viorica A Tanase's Obituary
With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Viorica Tanase, born inn Romania in 1938.
As a young girl, Viorica and her family fled Romania, found refuge in Greece, and later immigrated to the United States, where they were joyfully reunited with loved ones after years of separation.
While visiting Canada, she met the love of her life, George Tanase. They were married in a Romanian Orthodox Church and returned to the United States, where they built a life centered on family, faith, and service.
Viorica taught dance during her years abroad and her passion for dance never faded. She was also an avid tennis player who remained a loyal fan of the game throughout her life.
A devoted member of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church for than six decades, Viorica was active in the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope, generously giving her time and talents.
She is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends.
Viorica will be remembered for her strength, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her love for her family, heritage, and church touched all who knew her.
May her memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church.
A funeral service will be held at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox church on Thursday, July 30th at 10 am.
