Vince was my neighbor in the true sense of what neighbors should be. It can be scary sometimes being a single woman raising a child alone and no family within a 1,000 miles. I would speak to my friends about my Sicilian neighbor and his family and pizza palooza parties He was truly a good person. He has a very welcoming family. He helped me many times. I'd say...Vince - I want to do this to my house ... should I do this or that with my house project or yard project? On the small projects, he'd then proceed to pick up a tool do it even though it was not my intention that he actually do so. He did a few larger projects for me too such as laying concrete on a back patio, or pulling up an old shuffle board court, or building a wall to my FL room. He got a crew to take down an old very tall tree for me cheap, he got a crew to board up my windows just before hurricanes, I asked his advice on power tools. (btw I did pay him on the larger projects) Point being I trusted his advice. --- I will miss you. Hugs to your family. We all know you are in heaven.
I just thought of another memory. I was always the bag lady on Christmas Eve at church. I gave all the children a bag of goodies after the program. They gathered on me like they had never had goodies before. It was exhausting. One of the last years I did it and it was all over. I always had left over bags, Vince came back into church and asked me if he could have one because he had forgotten to get anything for Jill's stocking
Stacie, Brent, Haley, Sam, Katherine and Vincie. . . There no words. Your Dad was one of my favorite people. I know how hard this is. It is just a broken heart. I only have fond memories of him and a lot of them. The only advice I can give you and I know that at least 1 of you wont want to hear it is that I couldn't have gotten through it without God. Pray Pray Pray. As much as I loved Pastor Priebe, I really love Pastor Stern. Lean on him. His Bible classes are great. Oh and I just remembered and forgot to mention to your Mom, he has a grief share class on Wednesday I think at 11. Also remember if you need anything you can always ask me
Jill, I just want you to know that I am here for you. If you ever need to talk i am a very good listener. i know you have a lot of family but sometimes you want to say things that you cant say to family. And remember I've been there and your mother was one of the most comforting people to me. Vince helped me so much with Peter in pioneers when I had no idea what I was doing. I will never forget our confirmation classes. Both of you immediately took me under your wing and made me feel so welcome at Bay Pines. I love you Jill
It is with heartfelt sadness to express sincere condolences to the Iacopelli family for the loss of Vince.
At Azalea Soccer, Vince was a solid foundation / fixture for over a decade. He wore many hats, including head referee for multiple years. Vince was dedicated to help out in any way to assist kids in learning the game of soccer; he was a true advocate for the young soccer players.
Vince was one of those people who strived for quality - years ago, he poured a circular driveway for our home - it still looks much better than neighbors who had newer concrete driveways by other companies.
The world would be a better place with more men like Vince.
May he rest in eternal peace.
