Verlee Smith's Obituary
Born on September 27, 1932, Verlee Smith was the 11th child of 11 children. She was born in Batesville, Arkansas, along the White River. Early on, she taught herself to play the piano by reading shaped-note music. She used that gift from age 12 until into her 90's, playing for church services and youth rally events.
She was born again at the age of 11. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a great servant of the Lord. She mothered four children, Paul, Cathy, Steve, and Marcus. She was married to Henry Smith for 69 years. She was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed away Saturday, July 18 at the Lexington Rehab Facility in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was 93.
Services will be held at 60th Street Baptist Church on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 pm.
