Tyrone "Ty" Ritche Elias' Obituary
Ty Elias passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 with brother Christopher and sister-in-law Jocie Elias by his side after a short illness. He was 54. Ty was born and lived in the Akron, OH area until relocating to St. Petersburg, FL in 2005. He graduated from Norton High School and the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. While in Florida, he became a successful Account Executive with Allied Universal, even being honored as Salesman of the Year in 2023.
Ty was an avid fan of all Cleveland sports teams. He had been a little league coach for his son Christopher. Ty was a lover of all holidays with his favorite being Christmas and always loved dressing in costume whatever the holiday season.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Jay Elias.
Ty is survived by his loving mother Fay Elias; loving son Christopher R. “Little Buckaroo” Elias; loving brothers Christopher S. Elias (Jocie), Jon Elias (Mickey), Lyndell Elias (Brenda), Samuel Elias, and Jay Elias; best friend Roger Seaver; loving friend Dena Kilpatrick and her son Jared Gleaton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, fellow Parrotheads and his faithful dog Lucy.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ty’s name to the Shriner’s Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Akron and St. Petersburg.
