Torres, Tila's Obituary
Tila Torres, 97 years of age, passed on Saturday June 14th, 2025 at her home. Tila was born April 16, 1928, in Lima, Peru, South America, to the late Emilio and Angelica Torres. She was the youngest of four children, three preceded her in death.
Tila married the late Hugo Gonzalez in 1947, and four children were born from this union. Tila professed her life to Christ at an early age. The family moved to the United States in 1977. She always enjoyed her grandchildren and helping others.
Tila loved to pray the rosary, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing, and always with a big smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
Tila leaves to cherish her loving memory her four children, ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, most of her nieces, nephews and friends.
Services are Friday, June 20, at Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Ave N., St. Petersburg, Florida, 33710. Visitation at 10:30 AM, Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 49th Street N., St. Petersburg, Florida 33709.
