Tom Rivera was one of those wonderful personalities I always enjoyed meeting on Sunday mornings when arriving to church with his warm handshakes and hugs which it seemed he had no shortage of. Tom loved his family, and his church family without measure, his wisdom was among the finest I have ever known.
We all should rejoice in his memory of the man and friend Tom was to us all, and rejoice for him that now he no longer suffers but resides with in the mansions of our Lord forever and ever, "Amen.
I remember many good times with my good cousin Tom. Playing stickball, handball and soft ball in Central Park and 109th Street handball courts with Tom and the other cousins, Joe, Andy and Alex, helped me stay out of trouble while growing up in the city of New York. Friday nights we always hanged out at the candy store and Joe's house listening to music. These are good times that I always remember. Not having any siblings, you were like a brother to me.

I always remember Mr. Rivera cooking, and it was always great, whatever it was! He was a sweet, kind man and always made me feel welcome in his home and into his family. He was so proud of his kids and grandchildren and leaves behind a beautiful legacy. My deepest condolences and love to the Rivera family.
