Thomas B. Norton, 11/18/1933 - 02/16/2020
As a believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Tom is now at rest with Him in Glory.
Tom leaves behind his wife of 63 years, June as well as a son, Keith Norton, a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Jeffrey Bauer, all of St. Petersburg. Tom is also survived by a brother, William H. Norton, granddaughters Sarah and her husband Charles J. DiAngelo, Rachel and her husband Frank Meza and his great-grandchildren, Joshua and Lillian DiAngelo, all of St. Petersburg as well as many nieces and nephews.
Tom attended local schools before joining the U.S. Coast Guard, serving as search and rescue on Lake Erie, Cleveland, Ohio and also during the Korean War aboard a tugboat, Kaw and destroyer Durant W-489 before his discharge in 1957.
Tom worked for Coca Cola Bottling, Ryder Truck Rental, and then owned and operated Garden Machine Company, outdoor equipment sales and service, in St. Petersburg for 28 years.
Through his life, he enjoyed fishing in Lake Tsala Apopka in Citrus County, as well as in local waters. He also enjoyed camping in Myrtle Beach, SC and Fort DeSoto campground, stock car racing, and travelling to Arizona and Puerto Penasco Mexico with friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 6:30pm at Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg, 8900 US HWY 19 N, Pinellas Park, FL 33782,
