Theodore G Diel's Obituary
Theodore G. “Ted” Diel was born on July 30th 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Theodore Sr.  and Mary Theresa. Ted is the youngest of three children. His brother Jim, who passed in life in 1999, and is survived by his sister Janet DeToro along with many loving nieces and nephews. He graduated from Messmer High school in 1958. After High School, he received his associate degree in accounting
In 1976, he met his wife Mary Anne Holbach at a Bavarian dance in Chicago, Illinois. They were married on April 8th, 1978. On January 18th, 1980 his first son, Gregory was born. On July 27th, 1982 his second son Andrew was born. On February 8th 1999, he became a grandfather, or as he wanted to be called an Opa (German for Grandfather), to his only grandchild, Nicholas.
In the 1960s, he became a member of the D’Oberlander schuplatter verein, also known as a Bavarian folk dancing club. Until he moved to Florida in 1992, he was a very active member and dancer in the D’Oberlander club. He was in many of the national and International schuplatting competitions that they were in. In 1993, He earned the Ehren-Mitglied from the D’Oberlandler, which is a very prestigious honor of lifetime membership.  He also held the position of treasurer for the United German Societies for several years.
In 1965, he started working at the Oster Corporation. He was employed there for the next 25 years. In the early 90s, Oster was sold off and the new corporation decided to downsize and Ted’s department was part of the downsizing. In 1992, he moved his family to Florida for better opportunities. In 1995, he was hired on at Raymond James Financial working in the accounting department. He worked at Raymond James until his retirement in 2013.
Religion was part of Ted’s life. He was raised as catholic, along with going to catholic schools. When he met his wife, he converted to being a Lutheran. While living in Wisconsin, he was a member of Bayshore Lutheran Church. Once he moved to Florida, he joined St. Mathias Lutheran Church, in which he was the treasurer for. Also volunteering in different aspects to help out.
Ted was a lover of sports, watching all different sports but he was an avid Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He even had season tickets for the Packers when they played in Milwaukee. He also was a bowler, who participated in many bowling leagues. He even bowled a sanctioned 300 game. This is one of his most proud moments in his life.
He was a lover of the newspaper, reading books, doing crossword puzzles, polka music, trivia, and one of his all-time favorite shows was Jeopardy.
